The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Cocodrilos (2-1) in Caracas on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Spartans (5-0) 73-59. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Cocodrilos. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Spartans made 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of international swingman Pedro Chourio (186-90) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 4 assists and Nelson Palacios (192-92) who added 16 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Spartans players scored in double figures. At the losing side American point guard Greg Foster (190-89, college: SVSU) responded with 20 points and the former international forward Luis Bethelmy (200-86) scored 9 points and 7 rebounds.
