Regular Season Round 4: Diablos - Heroes 90-82

Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Caracas: Diablos (#5) and Heroes (#7). Diablos (2-2) won against visiting Heroes (0-3) 90-82. Diablos made 25-of-28 charity shots (89.3 percent) during the game. Heroes were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by guard Juan Mejias (184-95) who scored that evening 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Leinfer Montes (192-94) supported him with 20 points and 6 rebounds. Four Diablos players scored in double figures. Even 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) by the former international forward Axiers Sucre (199-78) did not help to save the game for Heroes. Forward Jaime Finol (195-87) added 17 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Diablos moved-up to third place. Heroes at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. Diablos' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Caracas to the arena Cocodrilos.
