Argentino can celebrate their first win this season after three consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat H.Americano (1-4) 74-55 on Monday. American guard Thomas Cooper (196-92, college: Calgary) stepped up and scored 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds for the winners and guard Mauro Araujo (180-94) chipped in 10 points and 4 assists. Guard Guido Mariani (193-94, agency: BIG) responded with 12 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Victor Fernandez (180-99) scored 8 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Argentino (1-3) left bottom position moving up to sixteenth place, which they share with Atenas and Comunicaciones. Loser H.Americano keeps the nineteenth position with four games lost. Argentino will meet Comunicaciones (#18) in the next round. H.Americano will play against San Lorenzo in Almagro and hope to win that game.
