Important game to mention about took place in La Rioja. Leader Instituto (4-0) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 7th ranked Riachuelo LR (3-2) 81-79 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Riachuelo LR. Instituto made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. Guard Nicolas Copello (193-92) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points and 9 rebounds. The former international guard Nicolas Romano (200-87) contributed with 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American forward Tony Farmer (201-94, college: Lee JC) answered with 27 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Nicolas Paletta (179-87) added 19 points in the effort for Riachuelo LR. Five Instituto and four Riachuelo LR players scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Instituto. They moved-up to second place, which they share with San Martin. Newly promoted Riachuelo LR keeps the seventh position with two games lost. They share it with Ferro. Instituto will play against Olimpico (#12) in La Banda in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Riachuelo LR will have a break next round.
