Regular Season Round 5: Taurinos - Cocodrilos 69-74

No shocking result in a game in La Asuncion where second ranked Cocodrilos (4-1) defeated 4th placed Taurinos (1-3) 74-69 on Wednesday. Cocodrilos made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Taurinos turnovers. American point guard Greg Foster (190-89, college: SVSU) stepped up and scored 23 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) for the winners and the former international swingman Cesar Garcia (193-90) chipped in 16 points and 4 steals. Eduardo Diaz (205-93) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Emiro Hernandez (188-94) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Four Taurinos players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Cocodrilos maintains second place with 4-1 record having just one point less than leader Spartans. Loser Taurinos dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Centauros. Cocodrilos will meet Trotamundos (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Taurinos will play against Heroes in Caracas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
