The game between closely ranked teams ended with second ranked Cocodrilos' (4-1) home victory over 3rd placed Diablos (2-3) 80-74 on Thursday. American point guard Greg Foster (190-89, college: SVSU) stepped up and scored 24 points for the winners and the former international forward Elder Gimenez (186-91) chipped in 17 points. Four Cocodrilos players scored in double figures. Guard Geisler Acosta (181-88) responded with 11 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Argenis Indriago (178-0) scored 14 points and 5 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Cocodrilos maintains second place with 4-1 record having just one point less than leader Spartans. Loser Diablos keep the third position with three games lost. They share it with Trotamundos. Cocodrilos will meet Trotamundos (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Diablos will play against Taurinos in La Asuncion and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
