There was no surprise in Montevideo where bottom-ranked Defensor (0-5) was defeated by fourth ranked Goes (4-1) 60-53 on Friday. It was a great evening for Argentinian forward Franco Giorgetti (203-92) who led his team to a victory scoring 13 points and 8 rebounds. Venezuelan center Nestor Colmenares (200-87, college: Campbellsville) helped adding 12 points and 9 rebounds. Four Goes players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international point guard Marcos Cabot (180-89) responded with 11 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and international guard Gustavo Barrera (194-85) scored 13 points and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Goes. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Urupan. Defensor lost their fifth game in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Capitol.
