Regular Season Round 9: Brasilia - Mogi 78-73

Brasilia's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after six consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Mogi (4-4) 78-73. Mogi was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. Germerson Barbosa (205-93) stepped up and scored 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and international center Ronald Reis (211-91) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds. Four Brasilia players scored in double figures. Brasilia's coach Regis Marrelli allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was point guard Lucas Lacerda (180-97) with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and center Thiago Mathias (208-89, college: N.Mexico JC) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds. Despite that victory Brasilia went down to sixteenth position due to points difference. Mogi at the other side dropped to the sixth place with four games lost. Brasilia will play against higher ranked Corinthians (#14) in Sao Paulo in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Mogi will play at home against UNIFACISA (#13) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
