We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when sixteenth ranked Pato (2-6) defeated on the road 15th ranked Brasilia (1-6) 70-53 on Sunday. Forward Paulo Scheuer (203-99) nailed 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and guard Gemadinha Sacco (183-97) accounted for 16 points. Pato's coach Dede Barbosa used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. International center Ronald Reis (211-91) came up with 14 points and 8 rebounds and American-Colombian swingman Siaan Rojas (201-96, college: WWU) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Brasilia in the defeat. Pato moved-up to fifteenth place. Loser Brasilia dropped to the sixteenth position with six games lost. Pato will meet at home higher ranked Fortaleza (#8) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Brasilia will play against Corinthians (#14) in Sao Paulo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
