Regular Season Round 7: Supersonicos - Broncos 77-88

The most shocking disappointment of round 7 in the Cup was a home defeat of 3rd placed Supersonicos (2-4) to fourth ranked Broncos (3-3) 88-77 in the game for the third place. Broncos forced 20 Supersonicos turnovers. Strangely Supersonicos outrebounded Broncos 43-31 including 20 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for naturalized Colombian Hector Diaz (192-92) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 5 rebounds. American Musa Abdul-Aleem (196-88, college: Troy, agency: BIG) helped adding 15 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side the former international forward Tulio Cobos (197-86, college: Northeastern St.) responded with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and American Jaelyn Johnson-Coston (198-93, college: FMU) scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Broncos moved-up to third place. Supersonicos lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Trotamundos. Broncos are looking forward to face Cangrejeros (#5) in Maturin in the next round. Supersonicos' supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Margarita to the arena Centauros.
