Regular Season Round 12: Gimnastico - Brisas 66-47

The game between closely ranked teams ended with one of their biggest challengers Brisas' (2-6) road loss to third ranked Gimnastico (4-2) 47-66 on Thursday. Gimnastico forced 20 Brisas turnovers and outrebounded them 51-29 including a 14-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Macarena Saez (169-95) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and the former international power forward Catalina Abuyeres (182-97) who added 23 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Camila Osorio (-2) with 12 points and 4 steals and point guard Maria Castillo (-93) scored 7 points and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Gimnastico maintains third position with 4-2 record having 3 victories less than leader Infinito. Brisas lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with six games lost. Gimnastico will meet at home Rancagua (#5) in the next round. Brisas will have a break next round.
