Rather predictable result in Barquisimeto where third ranked Patriotas (6-6) defeated bottom-ranked Pastoras de Lara (2-10) 67-56 on Tuesday. Patriotas forced 27 Pastoras de Lara turnovers and outrebounded them 45-34 including 19 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was the former international Yolimar Martinez (-95) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 20 rebounds. The former international forward Cynthia Polanco (180-85) chipped in 9 points and 13 rebounds. Four Patriotas players scored in double figures. International center Dayenlys Veliz (179-0) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and Andrea Martinez (-4) added 13 points respectively for the hosts. Pastoras de Lara's coach tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Newly promoted Patriotas maintains third position with 6-6 record having five points less than leader Anzoategui. Pastoras de Lara lost seventh consecutive game.
