Regular Season Round 10: Paulistano - Cerrado 85-84

A very close game took place in Sao Paulo between Paulistano and Cerrado. Sixth ranked Paulistano (4-5) got a very close home victory over 11th ranked Cerrado (4-5). Paulistano managed to escape with a 1-point win 85-84 in the game for the eighth place. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. International guard Caue Borges (187-91) fired 23 points for the winners. International Eduardo Sommer (205-94) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Guard Daniel Von Haydin (194-99) produced 24 points and 5 rebounds and American point guard Kenny Dawkins (172-87, college: Lamar) added 9 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Despite that victory Paulistano went down to eighth position due to points difference, which they share with defeated Cerrado. Cerrado lost fourth consecutive game. Paulistano will meet at home Brasilia (#16) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cerrado will play against Corinthians (#13) in Sao Paulo and hope to secure a win.
