The most surprising game was the first loss of Quimsa (6-1) in Santiado del Estero on Thursday night. Hosts were defeated by nineteenth ranked Comunicaciones (2-5) 89-80. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Quimsa. Comunicaciones dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Quimsa's 32 and made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American power forward Brandon Peterson (203-90, college: Arkansas St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Luciano Guerra (184-97) helped adding 15 points and 4 assists. At the losing side the former international point guard Juan Brussino (185-91) responded with 16 points and 6 assists and international point guard Franco Baralle (185-99) scored 18 points. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Comunicaciones moved-up to seventeenth place. Quimsa at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. Comunicaciones are looking forward to face higher ranked Olimpico (#10) in La Banda in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Quimsa will play at home against the league's second-placed San Martin (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
