Regular Season Round 11: Cocodrilos - Heroes 61-62

The most exciting game of round 11 in the Cup took place in Caracas. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of second-ranked Cocodrilos (7-2) to seventh ranked Heroes (2-7) 62-61 on Friday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Cocodrilos. They outrebounded Cocodrilos 43-29 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for the former international forward Axiers Sucre (199-78) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). Swingman Kevin Nino (195-91) helped adding 15 points and 5 assists. Heroes' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The former international forward Luis Bethelmy (200-86) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and international forward Anyelo Cisneros (200-97) scored 15 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Heroes maintains seventh place with 2-7 record. Cocodrilos at the other side keep the second position with two games lost. Heroes are looking forward to face higher ranked Trotamundos (#3) in La Asuncion in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cocodrilos will play at home against Taurinos and are hoping to win this game.
