Important game to mention about took place in Montevideo. Eighth ranked Malvin (3-3) saved a 2-point derby victory at home edging 5th ranked Nacional (3-3) 90-88 in the fight for the sixth place. Malvin outrebounded Nacional 42-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The winners were led by American guard Anthony Hilliard (193-86, college: ECSU) who scored that evening 28 points and 4 assists and international swingman Nicola Pomoli (195-99) supported him with 19 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Even 27 points and 8 rebounds by American forward Quincy Miller-Scott (206-92, college: Baylor) did not help to save the game for Nacional. International point guard Manuel Romero (183-92) added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Nacional's coach Leonardo Zylberstein rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Malvin moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Olimpia and Nacional. Malvin's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Capitol.
