Regular Season Round 13: Frontera - Osorno 90-69

There was no surprise in Temuco where bottom-ranked Osorno (0-9) was crushed by third ranked Frontera (6-3) 90-69 on Friday. Frontera dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Osorno's 42. They outrebounded Osorno 43-31 including a 35-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Frontera made 9 blocks. Argentinian power forward Melisa Cejas (186-84) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 5 assists (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) for the winners and Javiera Merino chipped in 19 points, 11 rebounds and 6 blocks. At the losing side Catalina Peters (-21) responded with 13 points and Monserrat Fritte (-4) scored 5 points and 9 rebounds. Osorno's coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Frontera moved-up to second place. Loser Osorno still closes the standings with nine games lost.
