Regular Season Round 8: Argentino - Platense 75-68

Bottom-ranked Platense (0-6) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 75-68 loss to thirteenth ranked Argentino (3-4) in Junin. Platense was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Thomas Cooper (196-92, college: Calgary) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 6 rebounds. Naturalized American Johnatan Slider (192-87) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Argentino's coach Juan Manuel Varas allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Swingman Lucas Goldenberg (190-93) replied with 9 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international power forward Alejandro Alloatti (203-84) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Platense. Argentino moved-up to twelfth place. Platense at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. Argentino will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Platense will play on the road against Ferro (#4) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
