No shocking result in a game in La Asuncion where first ranked Spartans (10-1) defeated 5th ranked Taurinos (3-7) 74-69 on Sunday. Spartans made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Taurinos turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Lenin Lopez (198-91) who helped to win the game recording 11 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and international swingman Pedro Chourio (186-90) who added 9 points and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Gregory Curvelo (195-90) with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and forward Jesus Rodriguez (200-93) scored 14 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Spartans have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 10-1 record. Taurinos lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Heroes. Spartans will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
