There was a small surprise in Mar del Plata where sixteenth ranked Regatas (3-5) edged 13th ranked Penarol (3-5) 82-79 on Monday. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Skyler Hogan (196-97, college: SEMO) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and the former international point guard Marco Giordano (183-0) who added 16 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Naturalized Italian swingman Federico Marin (199-82) responded with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward Al Thornton (203-83, college: FSU, agency: BIG) scored 23 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Regatas moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with defeated Penarol. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
