Regular Season Round 12: Llaneros - Spartans 65-82

Another interesting game was again a derby between two local teams from Caracas: Spartans (#1) and Llaneros (#5). Llaneros were smashed at home by 17 points 65-82 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Spartans looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of international center Windi Graterol (204-86) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and the former international forward Lenin Lopez (198-91) who added 14 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was center Carlos Rodriguez (206-89) with 5 points and 9 rebounds and forward Cristian Centeno (195-96) scored 7 points and 7 rebounds. Llaneros' coach rotated twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Spartans have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 10-1 record. Loser Llaneros keep the fifth place with six games lost. They share the position with Cangrejeros. Spartans will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Llaneros will play against Trotamundos (#3) in La Asuncion and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
