Not a big story in a game in Brasilia where 9th ranked Cerrado (4-6) was defeated by third ranked Minas (8-2) 90-74. The winners were led by international point guard Alexey Borges (185-95) who scored that evening 19 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and Bahamas forward Tavario Miller (203-94, college: Texas A&M) supported him with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Miller is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Minas players scored in double figures. Even 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists by American point guard Kenny Dawkins (172-87, college: Lamar) did not help to save the game for Cerrado. Power forward Ruan Miranda (205-1) added 14 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Minas maintains third position with 8-2 record having four points less than leader Sesi Franca. Cerrado at the other side dropped to the tenth place with six games lost. Minas will play against Brasilia (#16) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Cerrado's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Brasilia to the arena Brasilia.
