Regular Season Round 9: Defensor - Urupan 81-73

Defensor can celebrate finally their first win this season after six consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Urupan (4-2) 81-73 on Tuesday. Defensor looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was international center Hatila Passos (211-85, college: NM State) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). American guard Kelsey Barlow (196-91, college: UIC) chipped in 20 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Mateo Sarni (185-98) who recorded 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Lithuanian center Zygimantas Riauka (206-93, college: UW-Parkside) added 8 points and 12 rebounds respectively. Four Urupan players scored in double figures. Urupan's coach Esteban Yaquinta rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Defensor maintains thirteenth place with 1-6 record. Newly promoted Urupan keeps the fourth position with two games lost.
