Very expected game when 16th ranked Brasilia (2-8) was defeated at home by second ranked Flamengo (9-2) 69-60. The winners were led by international point guard Yago Matheus (173-99) who scored that evening 15 points and 6 assists and the former international center Joao Paulo Batista (206-81, college: Gonzaga) supported him with 18 points. Flamengo's coach Gustavo Conti allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 15 points by the former international Arthur Silva (197-82) did not help to save the game for Brasilia. International center Ronald Reis (211-91) added 8 points and 10 rebounds. Defending champion maintains second position with 9-2 record having just two points less than leader Sesi Franca. Brasilia at the other side keeps the sixteenth place with eight games lost. They share the position with U.Corinthians. Flamengo will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Brasilia's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Brasilia Cerrado.
