There was an upset in Santa Fe where higher ranked Instituto (6-4) was edged by seventeenth ranked Union SF (4-6) 100-97 on Friday. Union SF looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Point guard Andres Jaime (184-0) fired 25 points and 4 assists for the winners. Haitian forward Jeantal Cylla (201-96, college: Arkansas, agency: Interperformances) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. International Martin Cuello (193-93) produced 27 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and guard Nicolas Copello (193-92) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Union SF and four Instituto players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Union SF moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Comunicaciones. Loser Instituto dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. Union SF will meet at home Platense (#19) in the next round where they are favorite. Instituto will play against Platense (#19) and hope to secure a win.
