Regular Season Round 13: Corinthians - Fortaleza 66-78

Rather expected game in Sao Paulo where 13th ranked Corinthians (3-7) was defeated by eleventh ranked Fortaleza (5-5) 78-66 on Saturday. Fortaleza dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Corinthians' 32. American Desmond Holloway (194-90, college: Coastal, agency: Interperformances) stepped up and scored 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and the former international point guard David Rossetto (184-92) chipped in 18 points. Four Fortaleza players scored in double figures. At the losing side American-Peruvian guard Kyle Fuller (184-92, college: Vanderbilt) responded with 22 points and power forward Renato Carbonari (202-87) scored 9 points and 10 rebounds. Fortaleza moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Mogi. Loser Corinthians keeps the thirteenth position with seven games lost. They share it with Pato Basquete. Fortaleza will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Corinthians will play against UNIFACISA (#11) in Paraiba and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
