Very predictable result when tenth ranked Cerrado (5-6) beat on the road bottom-ranked Brasilia (2-10) 82-72 on Saturday. Cerrado looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American guard Isaac Thornton (193-91, college: Fairmont St.) stepped up and scored 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and power forward Ruan Miranda (205-1) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side international center Ronald Reis (211-91) responded with 16 points and 8 rebounds and guard Gustavo Basilio (193-91) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Five Cerrado and four Brasilia players scored in double figures. Cerrado moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Paulistano. Brasilia lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with ten games lost. Cerrado will meet Rio Claro (#15) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Brasilia will have a break next round.
