No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked San Lorenzo (7-3) beat 9th ranked Riachuelo LR (5-5) in Almagro 78-71 on Thursday. The winners were led by Facundo Rutenberg who had that evening a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Lucas Perez (184-87) supported him with 17 points and 4 assists. Even 13 points and 7 rebounds by forward Rodrigo Sanchez (200-89) did not help to save the game for Riachuelo LR. American guard Gary Ricks (185-91, college: Drake) added 20 points. Four Riachuelo LR players scored in double figures. Defending champion moved-up to fourth place, which they share with San Martin. Newly promoted Riachuelo LR dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. San Lorenzo will meet at home Union SF (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Riachuelo LR will play against Olimpico in La Banda and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
