There was a minor upset when 17th ranked H.Americano (3-6) lost to twentieth ranked La Union (3-9) in Formosa 75-91 on Saturday. La Union shot 61.7 percent from the field. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by H.Americano's players. The winners were led by naturalized Spanish guard Jonathan Maldonado (188-90) who scored that evening 24 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and American power forward Chaz Crawford (208-84, college: Drexel) supported him with 14 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Even 19 points and 7 rebounds by American center Deionte Simmons (205-96, college: Chicago St.) did not help to save the game for H.Americano. Marcos Saglietti (188-86) added 15 points and 4 steals. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. La Union moved-up to nineteenth place. Loser H.Americano keeps the seventeenth position with six games lost. La Union will meet at home league's second-placed Gimnasia in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
