Regular Season Round 12: Argentino - Union SF 81-60
Date: December 18, 2021
There was a surprise result when seventeenth ranked Argentino (4-7) outplayed higher ranked Union SF (5-7) in Junin 81-60 on Saturday. Argentino made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. The winners were led by American guard Thomas Cooper (196-92, college: Calgary) who scored that evening 23 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import center Chris Daniels (208-84, college: TAMUCC, agency: Shark Sports Management) supported him with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Even a double-double of 11 points and 12 rebounds by international power forward Gonzalo Torres (201-94) did not help to save the game for Union SF. American forward Justin Everett (206-96, college: Humboldt St.) added 11 points and 8 rebounds. Union SF's coach Juan Francisco Ponce gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Argentino moved-up to sixteenth place. Newly promoted Union SF dropped to the thirteenth position with seven games lost. Argentino will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Union SF will play against San Lorenzo (#4) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
