Regular Season Round 15: Sesi Franca - Cerrado 96-61

NBB top team - Vivo/Franca (12-0) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed eleventh ranked Cerrado (5-8) in Sao Paulo 96-61. Vivo/Franca dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Cerrado's 32. They outrebounded Cerrado 49-24 including a 35-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for the former international point guard Georginho de Paula (197-96) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 16 rebounds and 6 assists. International center Lucas Silva (208-95) helped adding 20 points. Four Vivo/Franca players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was power forward Ruan Miranda (205-1) with 15 points and American guard Isaac Thornton (193-91, college: Fairmont St.) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Cerrado's coach Bruno Lopes gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Vivo/Franca have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. They maintain first place with 12-0 record. Cerrado at the other side dropped to the twelfth position with eight games lost. They share it with Paulistano and Rio Claro. Vivo/Franca are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Brasilia (#17) at home in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Cerrado will have a break next round.
