The game between fifth ranked Urupan (7-3) and 9th ranked Penarol (4-5) in Urupan ended with biggest points difference. Urupan beat guests from Montevideo 81-71. Urupan outrebounded Penarol 38-23 including 29 on the defensive glass. Guard Mateo Sarni (185-98) stepped up and scored 20 points and 7 assists for the winners and American forward Antonio Bivins (198-92, college: UMass Lowell) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. Five Urupan players scored in double figures. At the losing side American John Flowers (200-89, college: WVU) responded with 22 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import center Lee Roberts (203-87, college: Findlay, OH) scored 18 points and 4 steals. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Urupan moved-up to third place, which they share with Aguada and Malvin. Penarol at the other side keeps the ninth position with five games lost. Urupan will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Penarol's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Olimpia.
