Regular Season Round 19: Pinheiros - Corinthians 67-65

Sixteenth-ranked Corinthians (3-12) made lots of trouble for sixth ranked Pinheiros (7-8) in Sao Paulo on Thursday. Pinheiros managed to secure only two-point victory 67-65. However their fans expected much easier game. It was a great evening for point guard Gabriel Campos (179-1) who led his team to a victory scoring 13 points and 7 rebounds. The former international center Dikembe Andre (206-99) helped adding 9 points and 11 rebounds. Pinheiros' coach David Pelosini used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American-Peruvian guard Kyle Fuller (184-92, college: Vanderbilt) responded with 23 points and forward Alexandre Paranhos (204-92) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. Pinheiros maintains sixth place with 7-8 record, which they share with Caxias do Sul. Corinthians lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the sixteenth position with 12 games lost. Pinheiros will meet higher ranked Minas (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Corinthians will play against U.Corinthians (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
