Regular Season Round 14: Nacional - Hebraica 87-91
Date: January 7, 2022
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Montevideo: Hebraica (#8) and Nacional (#7). Nacional was defeated at home 87-91 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Nacional. Hebraica players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. American forward Germain Jordan (198-86, college: Dillard) notched 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and naturalized Spanish center Esteban Batista (206-83, agency: Duran International) supported him with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Hebraica players scored in double figures. Even 33 points (!!!) by American Dominique Morrison (198-89, college: ORU, agency: Haylett Sports) did not help to save the game for Nacional. His fellow American import forward Quincy Miller-Scott (206-92, college: Baylor) added 27 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Hebraica have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place. Nacional at the other side dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. They share it with Penarol. Hebraica's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Capitol.
