Regular Season Round 14: Penarol - Malvin 93-64

There was a surprise result in Montevideo where ninth ranked Penarol (5-5) smashed higher ranked Malvin (7-4) 93-64 on Friday. Penarol dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Malvin's 32. The best player for the winners was American-Puerto Rican Michael Rosario (190-90, college: Florida) who scored 16 points. American center Lee Roberts (203-87, college: Findlay, OH) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. Penarol's coach Pablo Lopez felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Emmitt Holt (201-96, college: Providence) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Anthony Hilliard (193-86, college: ECSU) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Penarol moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Nacional. Loser Malvin dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Urupan. Penarol's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Trouville.
