There was a small surprise when eleventh ranked Obras (7-5) defeated 8th ranked Instituto (7-6) in Cordoba 109-105 on Saturday. Obras looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Uruguayan forward Joaquin Rodriguez (198-99) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. American forward Keith Stone (203-97, college: Miami, FL, agency: Duran International) accounted for 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Spanish center Antoni Vicens (204-90, agency: Duran International) came up with 28 points and 4 assists and guard Luciano Gonzalez (186-98) added 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Instituto in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Obras moved-up to eighth place. Loser Instituto dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. They share it with Regatas. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
