Regular Season Round 2: UdeC - Castro 112-72

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Castro on the court of Universidad de Concepcion on Sunday night. Visitors were rolled over by Universidad de Concepcion 112-72. Universidad de Concepcion shot 65.1 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. Universidad de Concepcion looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Castro's players. American center Arnold Louis (201-90, college: SSU) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 5 rebounds. Venezuelan Carlos Milano (198-85) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Five Universidad de Concepcion players scored in double figures. American power forward De'Marco Owens (203-96, college: Montevallo) replied with 14 points and 6 rebounds and guard Felix Ibarra (187-93) added 13 points in the effort for Castro. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Universidad de Concepcion are looking forward to face Deportivo Valdivia on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Castro will play against Las Animas and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
