Rather predictable result when third ranked Minas (13-3) won against 6th ranked Pinheiros (7-9) in Belo Horizonte 91-84 on Tuesday. Minas made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The winners were led by the former international point guard Alexey Borges (185-95) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 18 points, 7 rebounds and 16 assists and Bahamas forward Tavario Miller (203-94, college: Texas A&M) supported him with 17 points and 15 rebounds. Miller is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even a double-double of 11 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists by the former international center Dikembe Andre (206-99) did not help to save the game for Pinheiros. The former international Jefferson Andrade (207-83) added 14 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Minas maintains third position with 13-3 record having just three points less than leader Sesi Franca. Loser Pinheiros dropped to the eighth place with nine games lost.
