There was a surprise result in Santa Fe where seventeenth ranked Union SF (6-10) defeated higher ranked San Lorenzo (8-5) 75-58 on Tuesday. Union SF dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to San Lorenzo's 30. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Haitian forward Jeantal Cylla (201-96, college: Arkansas, agency: Interperformances) stepped up and scored 18 points for the winners and point guard Andres Jaime (184-0) chipped in 8 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Union SF's coach Juan Francisco Ponce used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international forward Matias Sandes (202-84) responded with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Facundo Rutenberg (190-1) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Union SF moved-up to fourteenth place. Defending champion San Lorenzo keeps the seventh position with five games lost. They share it with Obras. Union SF will meet higher ranked Obera (#11) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. San Lorenzo will play against San Martin (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
