Regular Season Round 16: Capitol - Urunday 77-61
Date: January 14, 2022
Bottom-ranked Capitol managed to get a second victory, breaking the four-game losing streak on Friday night. This time they won against tenth-ranked Urunday in Montevideo 77-61. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 16-point difference proves that Capitol was well-prepared to that game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by Panamanian forward Pablo Rivas (198-94, college: NCCU) who scored that evening 18 points and 8 rebounds and Argentinian power forward Nahuel Amichetti (201-98) supported him with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Rivas is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Four Capitol players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 31 points and 14 rebounds by American power forward Corbin Jackson (201-92, college: Florida Tech) did not help to save the game for Urunday. American-Nigerian swingman Tanksley Efianayi (198-94, college: UCF) added 13 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Capitol maintains fourteenth position with 2-11 record. Loser Urunday keeps the tenth place with eight games lost. Capitol's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena .
