There was a surprise result in Mercedes where nineteenth ranked Comunicaciones (5-10) smashed higher ranked Union SF (6-12) 88-67 on Sunday. Comunicaciones made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Comunicaciones outrebounded Union SF 45-26 including a 38-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Union SF's players. Forward Alejandro Diez (201-87) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. Point guard Luciano Guerra (184-97) chipped in a triple-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists. Haitian forward Jeantal Cylla (201-96, college: Arkansas, agency: Interperformances) produced 21 points and American guard Dallas Morgan (185, college: CMU, agency: BIG) added 9 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Comunicaciones moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Atenas and Argentino. Newly promoted Union SF dropped to the fifteenth position with 12 games lost. Comunicaciones will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Union SF will play against Argentino (#18) and hope to secure a win.
