Regular Season Round 4: Puerto Montt - UdeC 62-77

There was no surprise when 7th ranked Puerto Montt (1-3) was defeated at home by top-ranked Universidad de Concepcion (4-0) 77-62 on Sunday. Universidad de Concepcion outrebounded Puerto Montt 43-30 including 31 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Arnold Louis (201-90, college: SSU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and Venezuelan Carlos Milano (198-85) who added 12 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Four Universidad de Concepcion players scored in double figures. Universidad de Concepcion's coach Cipriano Nunez used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side forward Matias Sepulveda (188-90) responded with 11 points and 9 rebounds and international Carlos Lauler (190-96) scored 15 points. Universidad de Concepcion have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 4-0 record. Loser Puerto Montt dropped to the ninth place with three games lost. They share the position with Talca. Universidad de Concepcion will meet at home Universidad Catolica (#12) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Puerto Montt will play against Puerto Varas and hope to win that game.
