Regular Season Round 30: CAO Ceres - Estudiantes T. 91-66

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 4th ranked Estudiantes T. (5-3) was smashed on the road by fifth ranked CAO Ceres (5-1) 91-66 on Sunday. CAO Ceres outrebounded Estudiantes T. 47-24 including a 13-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Estudiantes T.'s players. Jorge Banegas (190-93, agency: BIG) notched a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the effort and swingman Matias Martinez (195-94) supported him with 18 points and 4 assists. Four CAO Ceres players scored in double figures. CAO Ceres' coach Enrique Lancelotti felt very confident that he used 10 players saving starting five for next games. Even 17 points by Diego Peralta (195-94) did not help to save the game for Estudiantes T.. Power forward Conrado Echevarria (195-98) added 6 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. CAO Ceres have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Estudiantes T. dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. CAO Ceres will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Estudiantes T. will play against Libertad (#7) in Sunchales and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
