There was no surprise in Formosa where 19th ranked La Union (5-12) was defeated by tenth ranked Instituto (9-7) 90-74 on Monday. Guard Nicolas Copello (193-92) fired 22 points and 4 assists for the winners. The former international guard Nicolas Romano (200-87) chipped in 17 points. Instituto's coach Lucas Victoriano allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Center Fernando Podesta (205-92) produced 18 points and naturalized Spanish guard Jonathan Maldonado (188-90) added 8 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Instituto moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Regatas and San Martin. Loser La Union keeps the nineteenth position with 12 games lost. Instituto will meet San Martin (#9) in the next round. La Union will have a break next round.
