Regular Season Round 5: Temuco - Castro 83-93

Bottom-ranked Temuco is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fourth consecutive match to eighth ranked Castro (2-2) 93-83 on Friday evening. Castro dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Temuco's 34. American power forward DeMarco Owens (203-96, college: Montevallo) nailed a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side and guard Felix Ibarra (187-93) accounted for 19 points. Owens is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Castro's coach Carlos Romano used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Kyle Kilgore (201-93, college: Dakota St., agency: BIG) came up with 24 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Rodrigo Munoz (186-80) added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for Temuco in the defeat. Five Castro and four Temuco players scored in double figures. Castro moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Ancud. Loser Temuco still closes the standings with four games lost. Castro will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Temuco will play against Ancud (#7) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
