Regular Season Round 5: Talca - Tinguiririca 66-78

Tinguiririca's fans can celebrate the first win of their team after two consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Talca, where they defeated Espanol de Talca (2-4) 78-66. They outrebounded Espanol de Talca 43-31 including 35 on the defensive glass. The former international forward Julius Holt (187-85) stepped up and scored 26 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and DR Congolese-Canadian forward Eric Kibi (198-90, college: ACU) chipped in 8 points and 20 rebounds. Forward Diego Zerene (-0) responded with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and American forward T.J. Robinson (203-89, college: LBSU) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. Four Espanol de Talca players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tinguiririca (1-2) left bottom position moving up to tenth place. It was Espanol de Talca's third loss in a row. They dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. Tinguiririca will play against Universidad Catolica (#12) in Santiago in the next round. Espanol de Talca will play at home against Universidad Catolica and hopes to get back on the winning track.
