The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Comunicaciones (15-2) in Buenos Aires on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by eighth ranked Obras (10-7) 76-70. Obras outrebounded Comunicaciones 51-34 including 18 on the offensive glass. 24 personal fouls committed by Comunicaciones helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Venezuelan power forward Fernando Fuenmayor (201-0) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 17 rebounds for the winners and forward Matias Von Schmeling (200-1) chipped in 18 points and 11 rebounds. Obras' coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Matias Nunez (191-99) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and forward Franco Maeso (197-1) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Four Comunicaciones players scored in double figures. Obras maintains eighth place with 10-7 record, which they share with Riachuelo LR. Comunicaciones at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. Obras is looking forward to face Platense (#18) in Florida in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Comunicaciones will have a break next round.
