Regular Season Round 6: Puerto Varas - Valdivia 91-59
Date: January 23, 2022
Very expected game when 10th ranked Deportivo Valdivia (1-3) was crushed on the road by fifth ranked Puerto Varas (3-2) 91-59 on Sunday. Puerto Varas looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Franco Morales (179-92) who had a triple-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and 6 steals. Dominican guard Bernardo Polanco (189-94) chipped in 23 points and 6 rebounds. Four Puerto Varas players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international Gerardo Isla (201-91, college: Columbia, MO) who recorded 13 points and 6 rebounds and Panamanian-Mexican Gabriel Giron (192-88) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Puerto Varas moved-up to fourth place. Loser Deportivo Valdivia dropped to the eleventh position with three games lost.
