Very predictable result in Mar del Plata where second ranked Penarol (14-5) defeated 11th ranked San Lorenzo (9-8) 82-72 on Wednesday. Penarol looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Bruno Sansimoni (194-96) fired 14 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Tomas Monacchi (198-97) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard Lucas Perez (184-87) produced 20 points and 7 assists and the former international forward Matias Sandes (202-84) added 10 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Penarol and four San Lorenzo players scored in double figures. Penarol have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 14-5 record behind leader Quimsa. San Lorenzo lost third consecutive game. Defending champion dropped to the twelfth place with eight games lost. Penarol will meet at home Union SF (#18) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. San Lorenzo will have a break next round.
