Another interesting game was again a derby between two local teams from Montevideo: Olimpia (#7) and Defensor (#11). Defensor was defeated at home 75-84 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Olimpia made 21-of-23 free shots (91.3 percent) during the game. Canadian forward Ryan Ejim (201-93, college: Carleton) had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and American point guard Charlie Marquardt (191-95, college: Molloy, agency: Green Sports Management) chipped in 24 points during the contest. Marquardt is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was the former international center Hatila Passos (211-85, college: NM State) with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Kelsey Barlow (196-91, college: UIC) scored 14 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Olimpia (8-6) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Malvin. Loser Defensor keeps the eleventh position with ten games lost. They share it with Trouville. Olimpia's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Penarol.
